Back in the 60s, when many muscle cars roamed the streets, an elite group existed, with engines the manufacturers were offering to the public just so they would qualify as “stock” for racing, and one of those special cars was the Boss 429 Mustang. To find one today with under 5000 miles in unrestored and perfect condition just doesn’t happen, well, except for right now, because this example is currently on eBay and being offered for a very healthy $550,000. The photos show a remarkable car, clean, unblemished and perfect for the financially well off Ford enthusiast and collector.
I remember the Boss 429 from when they were new though not many were around even then. To see one today in this condition brings back many fond memories and it’s a perfect example of what that era was all about. This will most likely be put in storage for resale again in the future but it really should spend some time on the road before that happens, keeping this in a museum, somehow just doesn’t seem right.

G’day Paul, nice site by the way! …the 69 429 has always been my ultimate dream car…very rare find indeed and worth a heap, although in the current climate, not surprised it didn’t sell…
