Boyd Coddington Collector Car Auction

By Paul Crowe

Boyd Coddington Collector Car Auction

The Barrett Jackson auctions have turned into quite the televised buying frenzy with enormous dollars chasing cars of all types. It’s not surprising that someone else with a bit of name recognition in the custom car field has decided to jump into the auction business.

Boyd Coddington will hold his first collector car auction on July 13 thru 15, 2006 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Missouri. There’s a pretty impressive list of cars already signed up, they are expecting about 500 cars, and some even seem to be earlier work by Boyd Coddington himself.

Vehicles will be a mix of reserve and no reserve, unlike the B-J auctions that are all no reserve. Sellers have to build a comfort level with the auction before trusting their pride and joy in a no reserve venue but if prices go where sellers are satisfied, you may see a no reserve in future years.
