That thing got a Hemi? Probably not, according to Chrysler. Chrysler has decided to go green and small. Although the engine will not entirely disappear from the lineup, it will be underplayed by the company, where it will still show up in a few Dodge cars and the Ram truck and as an option in some Jeeps and the Chrysler 300, though it will now be known as the nondescript 5.7 liter V8, no reference will be made to the name famously attached to Chrysler for decades.
Chrysler’s new managers from Fiat will be opening up stand alone dealers for the Fiat 500 to promote the little subcompact and Chrysler will be promoting the Pentastar V6 and various 4 cylinder engines in place of the iconic Hemi. The once proud name will be pushed into the back, the days of Sox and Martin are long gone, the recent resurgence of the Hemi, that helped the Chrysler 300 become a hit is over and Chrysler is trying to make everyone forget. Sad.
