If everything goes as planned, the DeLorean Motor Company will be setting up shop in San Antonio, Texas and bringing the DeLorean back as an electric, the DeLorean EVolved.
DeLorean Motor Company, one of the world’s most iconic automotive brands, plans a comeback with a new electric vehicle production enterprise. The global headquarters, which is contingent on final approvals of various incentive packages, will bring approximately 450 jobs to San Antonio, principally in executive, management, and engineering roles.
… the company provides services to the roughly 6,000 coupes still in circulation and has acted as a steward of the brand over the last 40 years. The new venture will give the beloved brand a strategic location to pursue growth opportunities across the nation and around the world while creating hundreds of jobs in the San Antonio region.
It’s always good to see a company come back and I hope they succeed, but as noted in the press release, the plan to start up operations in San Antonio “is contingent on final approvals of various incentive packages.” We’ll keep watching.

Some nice originals are for sale now.
The original version gave plenty of people a bad shock. Imagine what they would be capable of if they brought out an electric model.
