Gibbs Technologies of Warwickshire, England, developers of numerous high speed amphibious vehicles, are looking to open an office in Michigan. Their plan for the office is to continue development of the Aquada, an amphibious car, while attracting investment and eventually setting up a production facility.
The Aquada, holds the world speed record for amphibious vehicles. It’s powered by a 175 horsepower V6 and is able to travel 100 mph on land and 30 mph on the water.
Gibbs has designed and developed a whole series of amphibians with uses ranging from the recreational to search and rescue plus several military models.
