If you follow motorcycles, the name JT Nesbitt may ring a bell. He previously worked for Confederate Motorcycles as a designer for the G2 Hellcat and early versions of the Wraith, back in the pre Katrina days when Confederate was still in New Orleans. He has since gone his own way, establishing Bienville Studios in the French Quarter and he’s been working on a number of interesting projects.
The Magnolia Special is his take on a pre war roadster, styled in what could be called a mix of Alfa and Bugatti with just a touch of Bentley. The hand formed metal body with turned dash and open cockpit is impressive by itself, but the car is powered by a Jaguar straight six fueled with natural gas. It’s quite a mix of old style and alternative fuel.
The natural gas cylinders, very apparent with the body off, are completely hidden when the body is in place, giving the car the classic old style European look while utilizing a domestic US fuel source with low emissions. Pretty neat project that looks to be well along in the path toward completion. Nice work, JT!
