Michael Ulman Found Object Hot Rod Art

By Paul Crowe

Michael Ulman's found object hot rod sculptures

Michael Ulman is a sculptor, not the usual kind working in clay or stone, instead, he works with found objects from the dumpster, flea market or under some boxes in the back of the shop. He looks at the piece and sees things you or I would miss and builds motorcycles, hot rods and boats that look sometimes whimsical, sometimes real, but always phenomenal.

The photo above is a hot rod built from a mailbox, among other things. The projects on his site are simply amazing. Check out his site for a look at all of the other work. You’ll start looking at scrap in a whole new light.
