Model building has come a very long way over the years, what some of us remember from our childhood doesn’t begin to resemble what model builders accomplish these days. But even among today’s highly skilled craftsmen, a few build scale creations that simply leave you speechless.
Pierre Scerri of Italy has built what must be some of the finest scale models ever. He recently completed a 1:3 scale model of a Ferrari 312PB. To see it is to see a Ferrari in every way except it is one third the size of the factory car, but what leaves you shaking your head is that everything works! The flat 12 cylinder, fuel injected, dry sump engine starts up and runs. The gear box changes gears and drives the wheels. Absolutely everything is a perfectly functioning version of the full size piece. Even more amazing is he’s done it before, his most recent Ferrari is his second.
Pierre has received an award from the Internet Craftsmanship Museum, an organization we’ve pointed out before when we showed you Clen Tomlinson’s 18 cylinder 2 stroke model engine. I could go on and on about these cars but you really should look at the website to see what it’s all about. Simply amazing.

Geoff Daly says
The seat fabric material for this model came from left over “original” material for Jackie Ickx-Arturo Mezarios Monza/Buenes Aires car, from the rear lower fold section either left or right side of seat.
