This project, the SN65, is an outstanding example of a great idea combined with the necessary skill to follow it through. Bob and Wayne Julian of Julian’s Collision Center, decided they wanted a classic musclecar without the usual compromises necessary when rebuilding an original. Besides, with all of the work necessary to restore a classic they might as well try somethng really over the top.
The Julian brothers removed the body from a 1965 Mustang fastback and from a 2003 Mustang Cobra. With some very careful and precise metal work, not to mention a very well thought out plan, they transplanted the 65 body on to the 03 chassis. The result is a superb machine that looks perfect, it has the right stance and more performance and handling than they could otherwise have achieved with the original 65.
The amount of work necessary to pull off a project like this boggles the mind, not something you’ll do in your driveway and not something you’ll undertake without a lot of experience in the body and chassis repair field. The Julians can be extremely proud of the finished project and I have a hunch it’s one of the best advertisements their body shop could ever have. A 65 Mustang never had it so good. Nice. Very nice.
