Elon Musk has so many irons in the fire it’s hard to know what’s coming next, but he recently announced on twitter Tesla was working on electric trucks, both a pickup and an electric semi. Now he’s teased everyone with the release of this photo, a dark image of the front of a highly streamlined design with vertical LED headlights. Conventional semis have all been working on smoothing the airflow over their high drag, non-aerodynamic bodies, but with battery power it becomes crucial to slide through the air in the most efficient manner possible.
Obviously, you can expect autonomous capabilities when the truck finally makes it into production, probably several years down the road.
The full reveal is reportedly scheduled for September and with little more information available, what you see above is everything out there right now.
